LAYERS: Prospectus for New Members Show
LAYERS
Works of art have many layers; layers of interpretation, meaning, emotion and sometimes layers of color and materials. The women who create these works have underlying layers of understanding that are revealed in the process. Members of the peninsula chapter of the Women’s Caucus for Art are invited to move through these layers and create work for this exhibit. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme broadly yet tie together women’s character with artistic style. Others may choose to focus on the conceptual connotations.

Thursday June 6 - Intention to participate.
Images due by Monday, July 8th send jpegs to be considered for postcard to rebeccalambing@gmail.com.
Please label your work as follows: LastName_FirstName_Title_height_width.jpg with resolution @ 300 ppi, 5x7 inches.
Wed Aug 25 Deadline to submit art with statements (Refer to Entry Guidelines below).
Thursday, Sept 5 12:00 – 1:00pm Deliver artwork
Sept 5 - Hanging the show. All art should be present
Sunday Sept 15, 2 – 5 pm. Opening reception
Sept 6 - first day of Exhibition.
Art Walk and Talk Tour of the Exhibit: Saturday, January 18, 2-4 pm.
March 2020 - Take down the exhibition
ENTRY GUIDELINES
All work must be submitted through the online application Entrythingy. https://www.entrythingy.com/d=wcapeninsula.org#dashboard. Images of your artwork must be uploaded and payments be made through PayPal. Images should be formatted as 1280 x 960 at 300 ppi .jpg preferred. Artists who need help submitting via this method please contact myself or Tanya Lin for help.
You may submit up to 3 pieces. You will be required to provide:
The following are the guidelines for the sizes constraints: Small/Medium: between 6 in-24in wide L : between 24 in to 36 in wide XL: bigger than 36 in wide If the size you have is different, ask the curator. You can submit the following combinations: 1 XL +2 S/M 2 L + 1 S/M 1 L + 2 S/M 3 S/M You will be required to provide: a. Title b. Artist Name c. Contact information email address & phone number d. Medium e. Size f. Price g. description of work is the Statement for every Artwork (optional, 200 CHARACTERS or less)

CATEGORIES ACCEPTED
Painting, drawing, photo, printmaking, assemblage, collage, mixed media, fiber art. No giclee prints unless part of mixed media or photography. The venue has stated, the gallery serves all of our audiences, including children. Los Altos Hills Town Hall is a public space, we cannot accept any pieces with political, or religious, content, nor controversial subject matter (including nudity, etc.)
NON-REFUNDABLE ENTRY FEE
Payment of $20 per entry. An entry consists of one to (?) submissions of images. A maximum of three images per person is allowed. Credit card payment through Paypal only using Entrythingy. You do not need a Paypal account to pay through Paypal. The curator has the discretion on the final number of entries depending.
